So you don’t want medicine that would cure the infection and the itching?

      Signs of bacterial vaginosis:
A white, gray or yellowish vaginal discharge
A fishy odor that is strongest after sex or after washing with soap
      Itching or burning
Slight redness and swelling of the vagina or vulva
      See a doctor for medication.

      Signs of yeast infections:
      White, cottage cheese-like discharge
Swelling and pain around the vulva
      Intense itching
      Monistat works best and fast.

You can try these, but they may or may not work:

      1. Put a tsp of apple cider vinegar in a 6-8 ounce glass of water and drink it 2-3 times a day.

      2. Mix a tsp of Hydrogen Peroxide in a cup of water and pour over the area.

      3. Fill a bathtub with just enough warm, not hot, water to create a sitz bath (enough water to cover your groin and just up to your belly). Add 2 cups of raw apple cider vinegar and sit in the bath with your knees folded toward your body (not stretched out flat). You can stay in this bath mixture for 15 minutes. Gently pat dry and make sure you are very dry before putting any clothes on. Wear only cotton underpants, preferably washed in natural unscented detergent.

Once you start puberty a white and/or clear mucous discharge is normal. The vagina is self-cleaning. This same discharge increases the closer you get to ovulation and when you are sexually aroused. Trust me, you don’t ever want it to go away. You can wear a pantyliner if it bothers you. Some girls do produce more discharge than others.

      Different Types of Discharge:

White: Thick, white discharge is common at the beginning and end of your cycle. Normal white discharge is not accompanied by itching. If itching is present, thick white discharge can indicate a yeast infection.

Clear and stretchy: This is "fertile" mucous and means you are ovulating.

Clear and watery: This occurs at different times of your cycle and can be particularly heavy after exercising.

Yellow or Green: May indicate an infection, especially if thick or clumpy like cottage cheese or has a foul odor.

Spotting Blood/Brown Discharge: May happen right after periods, and is just "cleaning out" your vagina. Old blood looks brown. This may occur when you are ovulating/mid-cycle.

There are over the counter remedies..like monostat. Go ask at your local drugstore.

For the most effective methods, you need to go to the doctor, so s/he can prescribe you the necessary antibiotics, which are generally only available on prescription.

Although if you really are too embarresed, then over the counter treatments are available at a local drug store/pharmacy.

I have dealt with numerous yeast infections and I have always responded best to boric acid. Here is a link on it.

You can buy a large jar of boric acid powder for $3.99 (at least where I live) and then you can fill empty pill capsules with it and insert it like a regular vaginal capsule. I am very sensitive and have never had any reaction to this treatment.

If it’s a mild yeast infection (and you’re sure that’s what it is) then you don’t even need the over the counter creams. There’s some good home remedies for yeast infections- crazy as it sounds, sticking a peeled clove of garlic up there works pretty well.

There are a few over the counter medications you can get. And off course there are homemade treatments you can look into.

You can actually go to any pharmacy and get over the counter medicine like monistat. It is around $16-21. There is monistat that will cure yeast infection overnight. You also could buy it online if you are to embarrassed to purchase it at the store. You would have to stick the medicin "up there"…but it is small so you won’t really even feel it, then you go to sleep and the next day you should be feeling better.
I actually used Kotex pads for over 10 year and after all this time I became allergic to it and had yeast infection like symptoms that I couldn’t get rid of with anything. I couldn’t find any info on it online or any warning on the box, I just want everybody with that problem to know that you can become allergic to the pads and it will be as if you’ve developed yeast infection, but no medication will help.
