Infant Yeast Infection??
My six month old little girl has raised red bumps in her diaper area, it’s above her pubic bone and a little on her bottom as well. I’ve been treating it with Balmex but it isn’t responding at all so I’m wondering if it could be a yeast infection. Does anyone have experience with this?

yea it could be a yeast infection. go to the doc and get a prescription and use that or it can get really bad.
could be a yeast infection. my son used to get them on his bottom. his doctor prescribed nystatin cream and it cleared it up.
Nystatin cream will get rid of the diaper rash.
use montastat or a cheap brand. if she is breast feed that will cause my ddoctor told me to use yeast infection medicine put it on everytime you change her diaper takes a day or two to vlear up depending on how bad it is
Yes it sounds like it could possibly be a yeast infection. Does she dig and pull at her diaper area? My little girl had what i thought was diaper rash, so i kept treating it with rash ointment. But no improvement. Then one morning i went in to get her up and give her a morning diaper change, and she had tore the whole straddle out of her diaper trying to scratch herself. Yeast itches profusely. I took her to the doctor, and sure enough it was yeast. I didn’t know little baby girls could get it(i was young. lol). But they gave me something that cleared it right up. So i would take her and have her checked just to be sure. Hope this helped. Good Luck!
yep. my son got them when he was in diapers. try some over the counter yeast infection cream. it should clear it right up. if not, maybe it’s time to check in with the doctor, but i would try the cream first. use it like you use the balmex. there’s probably no need to try and put it inside her, since the rash is probably purely external. besides, i wouldn’t recommend doing that unless a doctor told to. just apply some to the the irritated parts. hope it works for her.
Yes, it could be a yeast infection. Try using an anti-fungal cream on it such as Lotramin (sp?). If it is a yeast infection, it will take care of it.
It does sound like a yeast infection(my little girl now 2 1/2 has suffered many from taking so many antibiotics and steroids) which you can take care of with some OTC yeast infection cream(goes on the rash just like balmex) BUT since you are not sure you should probably take her to the doctor to make sure that is what it is before you go treating it.
She could be allergic to the diaper material….could be scented. She could also be allergic to the baby wipes you are using. It also could be a yeast infection. I would try some topical antifungal cream and see if the rash goes away within a couple days, if not, take her to the pediatrician.
My little girl gets them every so often.
It looks like pinkish-reddish rash on her bottom.
Yeast likes warm moist environments so the best way to try to prevent this is to give her frequent diaper changes.
If this is a yeast infection you will need to see your doctor for a medicated cream.
diaper rash
Yes, that is common. You can call the dr’s office and they will call you in some Nystatin or you can use Monistat on it. It will not clear up unless you use one of those.
A lot of people arent’ going to like this…. but, you don’t have to take her to the doctor or even call just yet. I’ve had 4 children, 2 of which had frequent rashes. You did right by trying the Balmex first. Since that isn’t working, get an over the counter yeast infection cream, just the cheap 7 day kind is fine. Use at least 4 times a day. If it doesn’t improve within the first 2 or 3 times of use, it’s probably not yeast. Lastly, it could very well be her skin’s response to something in the diaper, certain plastics, etc… Get cortisone cream, use it on the affected area in the same way as the other creams. If this is the culprit, you may want to consider changing brands of diapers. I had to do that with my youngest, and still have to use the cortisone cream occasionally. Personally, from your description of the rash, I would try the yeast cream first since you can tell very quickly if it’s working or not, and can move right on to the cortisone. This is what my family physician advised me to do many years ago, and have been doing this ever since. Hope this helped!!
